Laminate Flooring near stairs?

How do you blend the laminate floor with carpeted stairs? SO not a designer but I want my upstairs done. I have a typical split entry.

1I would probably run the carpet out from the stairs ending in a "C" or "S" curved edge to give it a little "pizzazz."
